As
soon as you begin to think about international travel, begin the process
of acquiring your passport.
This is important to do immediately since it can take up to 4-6 weeks
to receive your passport, unless you have it expedited.
Contact your local United States Post Office or courthouse for more information
regarding passports.
YOU
WILL NEED:
certified birth certificate;
passport photos;
required payment for
the passport as well as the express mail costs;
(For an extra fee the process can be expedited - inquire about this
if time is short).
AIRPLANE
TICKETS
It
is recommended that you have your reservations made at least two months
before your intended travel date.
With group travel this is extremely important in order to reserve seats
on the same flight as well as hotel rooms if a layover is required.
Make sure that you examine the tickets when you receive them in order
to check for errors. Be certain that the name on the ticket matches the
name in the passport. Changes can be made free of charge within a few
days of receiving the tickets. After that, there is usually a fee to change
tickets. SEE

VISA
FOR UKRAINE
1)
VISA APPLICATION - All people traveling to Ukraine, excluding citizens
of former Soviet republics or countries that have special treaties with
Ukraine, must fill out an ORIGINAL visa application form which can be obtained
from the Ukrainian embassy website address: http://ukraineinfo.us/consular/docs/visa.pdf
the embassy itself in Washington D.C., or either of the two consulates located
in Chicago and New York. SEE BELOW...
In order to obtain an application from the embassy or consulate, a letter
must be sent requesting that the ORIGINAL application(s) be sent to you.
For groups, a list of names of those traveling should accompany the letter
in order to receive a large number of applications. Be sure to include a
preнpaid, self-addressed return express mail envelope with your request.
2)
LETTER OF INVITATION - As of September 1999, a letter of invitation
is NO LONGER REQUIRED for a visa to Ukraine. However,
for large groups or those desiring long term visas, we still recommend
that you obtain a letter of invitation in order to help guarantee the
approval of your visa(s).
If you desire to use a company that will grant you a letter of invitation
and secure your visa(s) for you or your group, please contact:
Sergey Komkov, President
AнUCD Foundation 5050 N. Sheridan Rd. #610
Chicago, IL 60640

3)
PAYMENT - The Ukrainian Embassy and consulates ONLY receive money
orders for visa processing. Personal checks and cash will be refused.
The application fee per person is $100.00 and the visa fee per person,
for a single entry visa, is now free.
Thus, for a normal, single entry visa to Ukraine, you should get a money
order for $100.00 (multiplied by the number of people going) made out
to either the embassy or one of the consulates. Other types (dual or multiple
entry) and lengths
(1 to 5 years) of visas will vary in price. For those using the organization
listed above, visa costs will be included in their price.
